If you are driving, start from the Skaftafell Visitor Center. Head south on Route 1 (Ring Road) towards Kirkjubæjarklaustur. After approximately 45 minutes, you will see a sign for Mossy Lava Fields on your left. Follow the signs and take the indicated exit. The parking area is nearby, and from there, the lava fields are within a short walking distance.

To reach Mossy Lava Fields via public transportation, take a bus from the Skaftafell Visitor Center to Kirkjubæjarklaustur. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance, as services can be limited.
