Car
From Reykjavik, head south on Route 41 towards the Reykjanes Peninsula. Continue on Route 41 until you reach the roundabout at the intersection with Route 43. Take Route 43 towards Grindavik. After about 10 km, take the exit onto Route 42. Follow Route 42 for approximately 20 km until you reach the signs for Krýsuvík. The geothermal area is located just off Route 42, and you can park at the designated parking area.
Public Transportation
While public transportation directly to Krýsuvík is limited, you can take a bus from Reykjavik to Grindavik. Use the Strætó bus service (Line 1) to get to Grindavik. Once in Grindavik, you may need to arrange for a taxi or a private shuttle service to reach Krýsuvík, as public transport does not reach this specific area. It is advisable to check bus schedules in advance as they may vary, and to budget for taxi fares which could range from ISK 10,000-15,000 one way.
