Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Grindavík. Head east on Route 43 towards Reykjanesbær. After about 10 km, turn right onto Route 41 towards the airport. Continue on Route 41 for about 15 km, then merge onto Route 43 towards the Blue Lagoon. After passing the Blue Lagoon, continue for another 4 km before turning left onto a gravel road leading towards Selatangar. Follow the gravel road for about 2 km until you reach the Selatangar site. Parking is available near the site.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavík to Grindavík, which runs multiple times a day. Once in Grindavík, you can either walk (about 7 km) to Selatangar or arrange a taxi. The taxi ride will take around 10 minutes and may cost approximately 3,000 ISK. Make sure to check the bus schedules in advance to plan your trip accordingly.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous and want to explore the area on a bicycle, you can rent a bike in Grindavík. From Grindavík, take Route 43 towards Reykjanesbær, then follow the same directions as the car route. The ride is approximately 10 km and offers beautiful views along the coast. Be cautious on the gravel road leading to Selatangar, as it can be rough in places.
