Getting There

Walking
Start at the center of Stykkishólmur. Head southeast on Aðalstræti street, walking towards the harbor. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Gilsbakkavegur road. Turn right onto Gilsbakkavegur and follow it as it curves to the left. After about 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the main road, Route 54. Turn left onto Route 54. Keep walking for approximately 3 kilometers along this road until you see signs for Kirkjufell Mountain. The mountain will be visible on your left as you approach.

Public Bus
From the main bus station in Stykkishólmur, take the bus towards Grundarfjörður. Check the current bus schedule for departure times. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the stop in Grundarfjörður, exit the bus and walk towards the beach area. The Kirkjufell Mountain will be visible from there, and you can walk towards it which will take about 15-20 minutes.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from a local rental shop in Stykkishólmur. Start at the rental shop and head southeast on Aðalstræti.
