If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest town, which is Blönduós. From Blönduós, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) heading southeast. After approximately 70 kilometers, you will reach the junction for Route 35. Turn onto Route 35 and continue for about 90 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 550. Turn onto Route 550, which is a gravel road. Follow Route 550 for approximately 35 kilometers until you arrive at Hveravellir. Be aware that this road may require a 4x4 vehicle due to its unpaved conditions, especially in winter.
