To reach Sólheimajökull from Þórsmörk by car, first drive towards the main road leading to Hvolsvöllur (Route 1). Turn onto Route 221 towards Sólheimasandur. Follow this road until you reach the parking area for Sólheimajökull. Note that the last part of the road may require a 4WD vehicle due to rough terrain. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours depending on road conditions.
