From Borgarnes town center, head east towards the main road (Route 1). Walk along Route 1 until you reach the intersection with Route 54, which is about 1.5 km away. Continue along Route 54 heading south. After approximately 3.5 km, you will reach the turnoff for Fitjarfoss. Note that the last stretch involves a 40 km gravel road; be prepared for a bumpy ride. Follow the gravel road until you reach Fitjarfoss.

Biking

If you have a bicycle, start from Borgarnes and ride towards Route 1. Once you reach Route 1, turn east and continue until you reach Route 54. Turn south onto Route 54 and ride for about 3.5 km. Look for the gravel road leading to Fitjarfoss. The gravel road continues for a lengthy stretch (40 km) to reach the waterfall, so ensure your bike can handle rough terrain.

Public Transport + Walking

Start by taking a local bus from Borgarnes towards Reykjavík. You will need to get off at the stop closest to Route 54 (check the bus schedule for the specific stop). Once you get off the bus, you will need to walk approximately 3.5 km south along Route 54 until you reach the gravel road leading to Fitjarfoss. Be aware that the gravel road stretches for 40 km to the waterfall.
