If you are traveling by car, take Road 1 (the Ring Road) towards Snæfellsnes Peninsula. From Road 1, take the exit towards Road 54 and continue on this road. After approximately 30 kilometers, turn onto Road 574 towards Snæfellsjökull National Park. Follow this road for about 10 kilometers, and you will reach Vatnshellir Cave, which is well-marked along the way.
Public Transportation
To reach Vatnshellir Cave using public transportation, you can take a bus from Reykjavík to Snæfellsbær. Check the schedule for the bus service as the frequency may vary. Once in Snæfellsbær, you will need to arrange a taxi or local shuttle service to cover the remaining 10 kilometers to Vatnshellir Cave, as public transport does not go directly to the cave.
