Getting there

Car

If you are driving from Ísafjörður, take Route 61 towards Súðavík. Continue on Route 61 for about 30 minutes until you reach the intersection with Route 63. Turn left onto Route 63 and follow it for approximately 15 kilometers. Soon after, you will reach the turn-off for Bolafjall. The road will lead you up the mountain. Be prepared for narrow and winding roads as you ascend. Make sure to check the weather conditions before heading up, as it can be windy and cloudy at times.

Public Transportation

While there is no direct public transport to Bolafjall, you can take a bus from Ísafjörður to Súðavík. Check the local bus schedule for times, as they may vary. Once you arrive in Súðavík, you will need to arrange for a taxi or a local ride share to get to Bolafjall, as the area is not served by public transport. Be sure to confirm the cost of the taxi beforehand, as prices can fluctuate.

Hiking

If you are an adventurous traveler, you can also hike to Bolafjall from nearby areas. Start your hike from the village of Þingeyri, which is about 14 kilometers away.
