If you are traveling by car from Þórsmörk to Básaskersbryggja in Vestmannaeyjabær, start by heading back to Route 1 (the Ring Road). Follow the signs to Hvolsvöllur and continue on Route 1 for approximately 45 kilometers. Once you reach Hvolsvöllur, turn onto Route 34 towards Þorlákshöfn. After about 20 kilometers, you will reach the ferry terminal at Básaskersbryggja. Look for signs indicating the ferry service, and park in the designated areas.

To reach Básaskersbryggja by public transportation from Þórsmörk, first, take a bus to Hvolsvöllur. You can check local bus schedules for the latest times. Once in Hvolsvöllur, transfer to a bus heading towards Þorlákshöfn. This journey will take approximately 1.5 hours. Upon arrival at Þorlákshöfn, you can find taxis or local services to take you to Básaskersbryggja, which is about 10 minutes away from the bus stop.
