Car
From Þórsmörk, take the F249 road towards Skógar. Continue on this road for approximately 25 kilometers. You will eventually reach the intersection with Route 1 (the Ring Road). Turn left onto Route 1 and drive for about 5 kilometers. You will see the signs for Skógafoss on your right. Follow the signs to the parking area for the waterfall. Note that there may be a parking fee, typically around 700 ISK.
Public Transportation
From Þórsmörk, take the bus operated by the local tour company that runs to Skógafoss. Buses usually depart in the morning and return in the afternoon, so check the schedule in advance. The trip takes about 1 hour. The ticket price is around 2000 ISK for a round trip. Make sure to book your tickets ahead of time, especially during peak tourist season.
Hiking
For adventurous travelers, you can hike from Þórsmörk to Skógafoss. Start your hike towards the Fimmvörðuháls trail. This hike is challenging and can take around 6-8 hours one way, depending on your pace. Ensure you have proper hiking gear, food, and water. This route offers stunning views but requires good physical fitness.
