Start at the downtown area of Coeur d'Alene, particularly near the Coeur d'Alene City Park. Head east on Sherman Avenue towards 4th Street. Turn left onto 4th Street and continue walking until you reach the intersection with S. 15th Street. At this point, you can catch the local bus service (Kootenai County Transit) to Post Falls. Board the bus heading towards Post Falls and enjoy the scenic ride. The bus will take you along N. Spokane Street, which offers lovely views of the surrounding area. Disembark at the stop closest to the Post Falls area, and from there, you’ll need to walk to the Spokane Valley Land and Water Company Canal. Head north on N. Spokane Street until you reach E. 16th Avenue. Walk east on E. 16th Avenue until you reach the canal area, which will be visible as you approach.

If you're renting a bike in Coeur d'Alene, start from the Coeur d'Alene Resort area. Head east on the Centennial Trail, which runs along the lakefront. Follow the trail as it leads you out of the city and towards Post Falls. The trail is well-marked and offers beautiful views of the water and surrounding nature. As you approach Post Falls, the trail will connect you to local bike paths. Once you reach Post Falls, continue on N. Spokane Street until you reach E. 16th Avenue. Ride east on E. 16th Avenue until you reach the Spokane Valley Land and Water Company Canal.
