    To reach Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge from downtown Nampa, start by taking the ValleyRide bus service. Board the route 1 bus heading towards Boise. Stay on the bus for approximately 20 minutes until you reach the stop at 12th Avenue and Karcher Road. Once you disembark, walk east on Karcher Road for about 0.7 miles until you reach the intersection with Upper Embankment Road. Turn left onto Upper Embankment Road and continue walking for another 0.5 miles. The entrance to the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge will be on your right.

  • Bicycle

    If you're cycling, start from downtown Nampa and head north on 11th Avenue, which becomes Northside Boulevard. Continue on Northside Boulevard until you reach Karcher Road. Turn right onto Karcher Road and follow it for about 2 miles. You'll then turn left onto Upper Embankment Road. The Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge entrance is located approximately 0.5 miles down Upper Embankment Road on your left.

    For those who prefer to walk, start from the city center and head east on 1st Street South. Continue until you reach the intersection with 12th Avenue. Turn left and walk north until you reach Karcher Road. From there, turn right and walk east on Karcher Road for about 2 miles. Once you reach Upper Embankment Road, turn left and walk about 0.5 miles, where you'll find the entrance to the Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge on your right.
