If you are traveling by car from Owyhee County, head northeast on ID-51 N. Continue on ID-51 N until you reach the junction with ID-78 E. Take the exit toward ID-78 E and merge onto ID-78 E. Drive on ID-78 E for approximately 15 miles until you reach the intersection with ID-55 N. Turn right onto ID-55 N and continue for about 26 miles. You will see signs for the Payette River Scenic Byway as you approach Smiths Ferry, ID 83611.
