Getting There

  • Public Transit - Train

    From Arlington Heights, head to the Arlington Heights Metra Station located at 45 W Northwest Hwy. Board the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line train heading towards Chicago. The train ride will take approximately 40 minutes. Disembark at the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago. Once you arrive, exit the station and walk to the nearby Washington/Wells subway station. Take the 'Brown' or 'Purple' Line toward the Kimball stop, then transfer to the 'Red' Line at the State/Lake station. Board the train heading towards 95th/Dan Ryan and get off at the Grand station. From there, it’s about a 10-minute walk to Navy Pier. Follow the signs towards the Lake Michigan waterfront, and you will see the entrance to Navy Pier.

  • Public Transit - Bus

    From Arlington Heights, take the PACE bus route 696 from the Arlington Heights Transit Center. Ride the bus to the Rosemont CTA station. From there, transfer to the Blue Line train towards Forest Park. Ride the train until you reach the Washington station. Transfer to the Red Line southbound towards 95th/Dan Ryan. Get off at the Grand station. Exit the station and walk east for about 10 minutes towards the waterfront, following signs for Navy Pier.

  • Walking

    If you find yourself near the downtown area of Arlington Heights, you can walk to the Arlington Heights Metra Station at 45 W Northwest Hwy. From there, follow the instructions for the train or bus transit options mentioned above. However, walking directly to Navy Pier from Arlington Heights is not practical due to the distance (approximately 30 miles); public transit is recommended.
