From Arlington Heights, walk to the nearest bus stop on Northwest Highway & Arlington Heights Road. Take the Pace Bus Route 696 towards Elgin. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Elgin Transportation Center. Transfer to the Pace Bus Route 550 towards Elgin. Get off at the stop at Grand Blvd & Park St. Walk north on Grand Blvd for about 5 minutes to reach the Elgin Public Museum at 225 Grand Blvd.

Head to the Arlington Heights Metra Station located at 45 W Northwest Hwy. Take the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line towards Chicago. Ride the train for about 30 minutes and get off at the Elgin station. From the Elgin station, walk east on Douglas Ave until you reach Grand Blvd. Turn left on Grand Blvd and walk for about 15 minutes to arrive at the Elgin Public Museum located at 225 Grand Blvd.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental service in Arlington Heights. Start by heading south on Arlington Heights Rd towards Golf Rd. Turn left onto Golf Rd and follow it until you reach the intersection with IL-31. Turn right onto IL-31 and continue towards Elgin. Once you reach Grand Blvd, turn left and cycle for about 1 mile to arrive at the Elgin Public Museum located at 225 Grand Blvd.
