Getting There

  • Public Transportation

    From Bolingbrook, head to the nearest bus stop where you can catch the Pace Bus Route 834 towards the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Orange Line. Ensure you board the bus that will take you to the nearest train station. After approximately a 25-minute ride, you will reach the 'Orland Square Mall' stop. Here, transfer to the CTA Orange Line train heading towards the 'Loop'. Stay on the train for about 40 minutes, and disembark at the 'Harold Washington Library' station. From there, switch to the CTA Red Line train towards '54th/Cermak' and get off at the '59th/Dan Ryan' stop. Finally, take a short bus ride on the #55 bus towards 'Chicago State University,' which will take you to '5801 S Ellis Ave'.

  • Bicycle

    If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bike and head to the nearest bike path. Start by cycling east on the Bolingbrook Greenway Trail. Follow the trail for about 5 miles until you reach the intersection with the DuPage River Trail. Continue south on the DuPage River Trail until you hit the 'Illinois & Michigan Canal State Trail'. Follow this trail until you reach the southwest side of Chicago. Upon entering the city limits, navigate towards South Ellis Avenue, where you will find The University of Chicago at 5801 S Ellis Ave. Look for bike racks upon arrival!

  • Walking

    For the most ambitious walkers, start your journey from the center of Bolingbrook. Head east on Lily Cache Lane until you reach the busier street of Boughton Road. Walk north on Boughton Road until you intersect with Route 53. Cross the road and continue walking east until you reach the 'Bolingbrook Metra Station'. From the Metra Station, board the train heading towards Chicago Union Station. Once you arrive at Union Station, transfer to the CTA trains as mentioned in the Public Transportation section, and follow the same route to The University of Chicago.
