Transfer to the Kedzie bus (bus number 49) at the Kedzie station bus terminal. Ride the bus until you reach the stop at 4800 S Harlem Ave. From the bus stop, walk south a short distance to reach the Chicago Portage National Historic Site.

If you are near the Michigan Ave area, you can catch the #63 bus at the Michigan & Congress stop. Ride the #63 bus until you reach the Harlem & 47th stop. From there, transfer to the #49 bus heading towards Western. Ride it until you reach the stop at 4800 S Harlem Ave. Walk a short distance south to arrive at the Chicago Portage National Historic Site.

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a Divvy bike from one of the stations in downtown Chicago. Head southwest on the 18th St bike lane towards Western Ave. Continue on Western Ave, then turn left onto 47th St. Follow 47th St until you reach Harlem Ave. Turn right and continue south until you arrive at the Chicago Portage National Historic Site.
