Public Transit
From Oak Lawn, head to the Oak Lawn Metra Station located at 95th Street and the Metra tracks. Take the Metra Electric District Line towards Millennium Station in Chicago. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Millennium Station, exit the station and walk east towards Michigan Avenue. From there, you can head south on Michigan Avenue to reach the South Loop area.

Bus
You can take the Pace Bus Route 381 from various stops in Oak Lawn. Board the bus heading towards the 95th/Dan Ryan station. Once you arrive at the 95th/Dan Ryan station, transfer to the CTA Red Line train and head north towards Howard. Get off at the Harold Washington Library Station. From there, you can walk south towards the South Loop area.

Bicycle
If you are comfortable cycling, you can rent a bike from a local bike-sharing service. Start from Oak Lawn and head north on Cicero Avenue until you reach 87th Street. Turn left on 87th Street and continue until you can connect to the Cal-Sag Trail. Follow the trail toward the south side of Chicago, which will lead you towards the South Loop area. This route is approximately 10 miles and will take around 45 minutes to an hour depending on your cycling speed.

If you are near the Oak Lawn Village Center, you can walk to the nearby Metra station at 95th Street. From there, take the Metra train as mentioned above. If you are already in a nearby location like the Oak Lawn Public Library, you would walk to the Metra station, and then take the train to Chicago.
