    From Palatine, head to the Palatine Metra Station located at 137 W Wood St. Take the Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Chicago O'Hare. Stay on the train for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Ogilvie Transportation Center. From the Ogilvie Center, transfer to the Pink Line towards 18th. After 2 stops, get off at the Polk station. Walk east for about 8 minutes until you reach 400 S State St, where the Harold Washington Library Center is located.

    Begin at any bus stop in Palatine and take the Pace Bus Route 595 towards the Arlington Park train station. From there, transfer to the Metra train on the Union Pacific Northwest Line going to Chicago. After about 30 minutes, disembark at the Ogilvie Transportation Center. Walk a few blocks to the Pink Line station, board the train towards 18th, and get off at the Polk station. Walk east for about 8 minutes to reach the Harold Washington Library Center at 400 S State St.
