From downtown Elgin, walk to the Elgin Transportation Center located at 100 W. Douglas Ave. Take the Pace Bus Route 800 towards Skokie, which will take you directly to the Skokie area. Make sure to check the schedule for bus timings. Once you reach the Skokie area, get off at the stop closest to Woods Drive. From there, it’s a short walk to 9603 Woods Dr, where the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center is located.
Bicycle
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Elgin. Start your journey heading south on the Fox River Trail, which connects to various paths leading to Skokie. Follow the trail until you reach the Skokie area, and navigate your way to Woods Drive. The museum is located at 9603 Woods Dr.
Walking
If you're up for a long walk, starting from downtown Elgin, head south on Douglas Ave. Walk until you reach the intersection with Route 31. Continue on Route 31 until you reach the Skokie area. Once you get to Woods Drive, turn right and walk until you reach 9603 Woods Dr, where the museum is located. This is quite a lengthy walk, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.
