    From downtown Joliet, walk to the Joliet Transportation Center located at 200 W Jefferson St. Catch the Pace Bus Route 834 towards Chicago. You'll need to transfer at the 95th/Dan Ryan station to the Green Line train towards Ashland. Get off at the Cottage Grove stop and transfer to the #55 bus towards 55th Street. Get off at the 1130 Midway Plaisance stop, and you'll find Midway Plaisance Park just a short walk away.

    Rent a bike from a local rental service in Joliet. Head east towards the I&M Canal Trail and follow the trail north until you reach the metra line. Continue on the trail, which takes you to the Des Plaines River Trail. Follow the trail until you reach the South Shore Line.
