    From Chain O'Lakes State Park, exit the park and head north on Wilmot Road (Route 83). Continue for approximately 9 miles until you reach the intersection with Route 176. Turn left onto Route 176 and continue for about 2.5 miles. Turn right onto St. Mary's Road (N. St. Mary's Road) and proceed for about 1 mile. The Old School Forest Preserve will be on your right at 28285 N St Marys Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048. There is no entry fee for the preserve.

    From Chain O'Lakes State Park, you will need to take a taxi or rideshare service to reach the nearest public transportation hub, which is located in Fox Lake. Once there, board the METRA train on the Milwaukee District North Line towards Chicago. Disembark at the Libertyville station. From this station, you can take a local taxi or rideshare service to reach the Old School Forest Preserve at 28285 N St Marys Rd, Libertyville, IL 60048. Please check the METRA schedule for train times as they may vary, and be aware that taxi services will incur additional costs.
