Public Transportation
From Oak Lawn, head to the nearest train station, Oak Lawn Station, which is located at 10000 S. Cicero Ave. Take the Metra Southwest Service train towards Chicago Union Station. Once you arrive at the Union Station, transfer to the CTA 'Blue Line' train. Take the Blue Line to the Washington/Wells station. From there, transfer to the 'Brown Line' and get off at the Sedgwick station. Exit the station and walk north on Sedgwick St. until you reach W Walton St, then turn right. The Newberry Library will be on your left at 60 W Walton St.
Bus
Catch the Pace Bus 379 at any stop along Cicero Avenue in Oak Lawn heading towards downtown Chicago. Ride the bus until you reach the 'Cicero & 95th' stop, then transfer to the CTA bus route 'J14' heading towards the 'Western & 58th' stop. Get off at the 'Western & Armitage' stop and transfer to the 'Brown Line' at the Western station. Ride the 'Brown Line' to the Sedgwick station. From there, walk north on Sedgwick St. until you reach W Walton St, then turn right. The Newberry Library will be on your left at 60 W Walton St.

If you are near the Oak Lawn Village Hall, located at 9446 S. Raymond Ave, you can walk to the Newberry Library. Head north on Raymond Ave towards 95th St, then turn left onto 95th St. Walk east until you reach Cicero Ave, then turn right and continue walking north until you reach the Oak Lawn Metra Station. From there, take the Metra train to Union Station, then follow the earlier instructions to transfer to the 'Brown Line' at Washington/Wells and get off at the Sedgwick station. Walk north on Sedgwick St. to W Walton St, then turn right to find the library.
