From Oak Lawn, head to the nearest bus stop on 95th Street. Take the Pace Bus Route 364 towards Joliet. Stay on the bus for approximately 25 minutes and get off at the Joliet Mall stop. From the mall, walk to the nearby Joliet Metra Station. Take the Metra Rock Island Line train towards Chicago and get off at the Joliet Station. Once you arrive at Joliet Station, exit onto East Jefferson Street and walk west for about 0.5 miles until you reach Collins Street. Turn left onto Collins Street, and you will find Old Joliet Prison at 1125 Collins St.

If you prefer to bike, rent a bike from a local shop in Oak Lawn. Start your journey by heading north on Cicero Avenue towards 95th Street. Continue on Cicero Avenue until you reach the intersection with 151st Street. Turn east on 151st Street and follow it until you reach the intersection with Cedar Road. Head south on Cedar Road toward Joliet. Follow Cedar Road until it merges with Collins Street. Old Joliet Prison will be on your right at 1125 Collins St.

Once you reach 95th Street, turn right and walk until you reach Cicero Avenue. Cross over to Cicero Avenue and continue south. After a while, you will come to the Metra train station. You can take a train from Oak Lawn to Joliet. After arriving at Joliet Station, exit onto East Jefferson Street, walk west for about 0.5 miles, turn left onto Collins Street, and you will find Old Joliet Prison at 1125 Collins St.
