Public Transportation
Start your journey at the Palatine Metra Train Station located at 137 W Wood St, Palatine, IL 60067. Take the Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Chicago. The train ride will take approximately 45 minutes. Disembark at the Chicago Union Station, which is located in downtown Chicago. From Union Station, walk to the nearby Clark/Lake subway station and take the 'Brown Line' train towards Kimball. After 8 stops, get off at the 'Fullerton' station. After exiting the station, head east on W Fullerton Ave until you reach the lakefront area, where you will find Fullerton Beach.
Bus
From Palatine, walk to the nearest bus stop for the PACE Bus Route 696, which runs through Palatine. Board the bus towards the 'Schaumburg' direction. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the stop at 'Woodfield Mall'. From there, transfer to Bus Route 200 towards 'Elk Grove Village'. Ride for about 20 minutes and get off at the stop at 'Lake & Fullerton'. From this stop, walk east towards the lakefront until you arrive at Fullerton Beach.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from a local rental shop in Palatine. Head south on N Smith St until you reach W Dundee Rd (Route 68). Turn left and continue on W Dundee Rd until you reach the bike path. Follow the bike path towards Chicago, which will lead you to the Des Plaines River Trail. Continue along the trail until you reach the lakefront area. Follow the signs to Fullerton Beach, where you can securely park your bike.
Walking
If you are staying in a hotel or a nearby area in Palatine, consider walking to the Palatine Metra Train Station. Once at the station, board the train heading to Chicago as described above. However, if you're near downtown Palatine, it is a long walk (about 40 miles) to Fullerton Beach. Therefore, it is advisable to use public transportation or a bike for a more convenient trip.
