Public Transportation
To get to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from Schaumburg, start by heading to the nearest Metra train station, which is the Schaumburg station located at 601 W Golf Rd. Take the Metra Union Pacific Northwest Line train towards Chicago, and get off at the Ogilvie Transportation Center station in downtown Chicago. From there, transfer to the CTA 'L' train at the Washington/Wells station. Take the Brown, Pink, or Orange line southbound to the State/Lake station. Once you exit the station, walk east on Washington St until you reach South Michigan Ave. Turn left and walk north for about 5 minutes. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra will be on your left at 220 S Michigan Ave.
Bus
Begin your journey by walking to the nearest bus stop that services Pace Bus routes, such as the stop at Golf Rd & Meacham Rd. Take Pace Bus Route 608 towards the Rosemont CTA Blue Line station. After arriving at Rosemont, transfer to the Blue Line train and head towards Forest Park. Get off at the Washington station. From there, transfer to the Pink Line train, which you will take to the Damen station. At this station, transfer to the CTA bus route #60 towards the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Get off at the stop nearest to 220 S Michigan Ave. The venue will be just a short walk away.
Bike
If you prefer biking, rent a bike from one of the Divvy bike-sharing stations in Schaumburg. Start your ride heading south on Meacham Rd until you reach the bike path along the Salt Creek Greenway Trail. Follow the trail south until you reach the intersection with the Des Plaines River Trail. Continue on this path until you reach downtown Chicago. Once there, navigate towards South Michigan Ave. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra at 220 S Michigan Ave will be within a short distance from the bike paths.
