From Schaumburg, first head to the nearest Metra train station, which is the Schaumburg Metra Station located at 2050 W. Golf Rd. You can take a short walk or use a local bus if needed. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Evanston. Board the train on the Union Pacific Northwest Line towards Chicago. After about 30 minutes, transfer at the Ogilvie Transportation Center in Chicago to the Union Pacific North Line. Continue on this train for approximately 40 minutes until you reach the Central Street Station in Evanston. From there, exit the station and walk east towards Sheridan Rd. Turn right on Sheridan Rd, and Grosse Point Lighthouse will be about a 15-minute walk north at 2601 Sheridan Rd.

From Schaumburg, make your way to the nearest bus stop servicing Pace Bus Route 600. Take the bus heading towards the Village of Arlington Heights and transfer at the Arlington Heights Metra Station. From there, board the Metra train on the Union Pacific North Line towards Chicago. After about 20 minutes, get off at the Central Street Station in Evanston.
