From downtown Springfield, head to the nearest bus stop for the Sangamon Mass Transit District (SMTD). Take Route 2 bus heading east. Stay on the bus for approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to the Illinois State Fairgrounds, which is located along Sangamon Avenue. Walk towards Gate 2 at 801 E Sangamon Ave, which will be on your left.
