Make sure to check the schedule for bus times. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at 5th and South Spring Street. From there, it’s just a short walk to the museum. Head south on South Spring Street for about 2 blocks, and you will see the Illinois State Museum on your left at 502 S Spring St.

If you are already in the downtown area, you can walk to the Illinois State Museum. Start at the Old State Capitol building located at 525 E Adams St. Head south on 5th Street for about 4 blocks until you reach the intersection with South Spring Street. Turn left (east) onto South Spring Street and continue walking for about 2 blocks. The museum will be on your left at 502 S Spring St.
Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, you can ride from downtown Springfield. Start at the Old State Capitol located at 525 E Adams St. Head south on 5th Street, then turn left onto South Spring Street. Continue cycling south for about 2 blocks, and you will find the Illinois State Museum at 502 S Spring St. Make sure to follow local bike lanes and traffic rules.
