Bus
From downtown Waukegan, walk to the nearest bus stop on Washington St. and 10th St. Catch the Pace Bus Route 572 heading towards Elgin. Stay on the bus for about 30-40 minutes, and get off at the Elgin Public Museum stop on Grand Blvd. The museum will be a short walk from the bus stop.
Train
Walk to the Waukegan Metra Station located at 10 N. Genesee St. Take the Metra Union Pacific North Line towards Ogilvie Transportation Center. After approximately 45 minutes, get off at the Elgin station. From the station, walk to the nearest bus stop and take the Pace Bus Route 801 towards the Elgin Public Museum area, which will take about 10 minutes.
Walking
If you are near downtown Waukegan, you can explore the area by walking to the Waukegan Metra Station, then take the Metra train to Elgin Station. Once you arrive in Elgin, you can walk to the museum, which is about 1.5 miles away from the train station. Simply head east on Chicago St., and then turn left onto Grand Blvd. The museum will be on your right.
