    Bus

    From downtown Waukegan, head to the Waukegan Transit Station located at 100 N Genesee St. Take the Route 2 bus towards Kenosha. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at 6th Ave & 50th St. Transfer to the Route 4 bus towards Kenosha. After about 10 minutes, get off at the Simmons Island Beach stop. Walk a short distance southeast along Simmons Island Rd to reach the beach entrance.

    Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bike at one of the local rental shops in Waukegan. Start from the Waukegan Harbor and head south on Harbor Park Dr. Follow the bike path along the lakefront to the south, which will lead you directly to Simmons Island Beach. The ride is about 6 miles and will take around 30-40 minutes depending on your pace. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
