Riverfront Flower Park: A Floral Paradise in Ahmedabad

The Riverfront Flower Park, situated along the scenic Sabarmati Riverfront in the Ellisbridge area of Ahmedabad, is a captivating destination renowned for its natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere. Opened to the public in March 2016, the park was constructed at a cost of ₹18.75 crore (US$2.2 million). The park is designed to be the city's first themed flower garden, displaying a variety of flower-based plant species in specifically designed zones. These zones include flower terraces, valleys, a rose garden, and a greenhouse that shelters shade-loving and exotic plants. The park spans 45,000 square meters and houses over 330 native and exotic flower species. Its design incorporates a lower-level promenade along the river, ensuring universal accessibility with ramps. The park's layout follows a linear form, featuring main entries at each end and an elevated promenade that provides views of both the internal and external areas. The Riverfront Flower Park is particularly famous for hosting the annual Ahmedabad Flower Show every January, attracting thousands of visitors. The flower show displays state-of-the-art flower structures that often become popular spots for taking selfies. The park also features a two-layer fountain, a glowing tunnel, illuminated swings, selfie points, a dance floor, and decorative light balls. Beyond its aesthetic appeal, the Riverfront Flower Park serves as a testament to the cultural importance of nature in India. It provides a space for both locals and tourists to appreciate the beauty of the natural world and reconnect with nature. The park is maintained and operated by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, ensuring a clean and well-kept environment for visitors.
