Chaltlang Dawrkawn View Point: A Scenic Marvel in Aizawl

Getting There

• Walking

  Start your journey from the center of Aizawl, specifically from the famous Mizoram State Museum. Head east on the main road, known as Khatla Road, until you reach the intersection with Chaltlang Road. This should take you about 10-15 minutes of steady walking. At the intersection, turn left onto Chaltlang Road. Continue on this road for approximately 2 kilometers. You will pass various shops and local eateries along the way, which can be great stops if you need refreshments. After 2 kilometers, look for a sign indicating Dawrkawn. Turn right into Dawrkawn and continue straight for about 500 meters. You will see a pathway leading to Chaltlang Dawrkawn view point on your left. Follow the pathway, and you will arrive at the viewpoint, which offers stunning panoramic views of Aizawl.

• Public Transport (Local Bus)

  From the main bus terminal in Aizawl, board a local bus heading towards Chaltlang. Buses are frequent, and the ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Inform the conductor that you wish to get off at Dawrkawn. Once you arrive at the Dawrkawn stop, disembark and walk straight down the main road for about 500 meters. Look for a pathway on your left that leads to Chaltlang Dawrkawn view point. Follow the pathway, and you will reach the viewpoint which provides breathtaking views of the city.

• Shared Taxi

  At the Aizawl taxi stand, find a shared taxi heading towards Chaltlang. The fare is usually affordable, and the journey will take about 20 minutes. Request the driver to drop you off at Dawrkawn. After you get off, walk straight for approximately 500 meters until you see a pathway on your left. This pathway will lead you directly to Chaltlang Dawrkawn view point, where you can enjoy the scenic views.
