Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main entrance of the Golden Temple Complex, head straight towards the central Sarovar (sacred pool). As you walk, you'll see the magnificent Golden Temple on your left. Continue walking along the path that circles the Sarovar. Keep the Sarovar to your left until you reach the end of the path. As you approach the end, you will see a set of stairs leading up to Akal Takht Sahib directly ahead of you, just behind the Golden Temple.

    If you are standing in front of the Golden Temple, face the temple and turn slightly to your right. You will see a pathway that leads towards Akal Takht Sahib, which is situated directly opposite the Golden Temple. Simply follow this pathway; it will lead you right to the entrance of Akal Takht Sahib.

    For those already near the Guru Ram Das Langar Hall (community kitchen), exit the hall and head towards the Sarovar. Walk along the edge of the Sarovar, keeping the water on your left. Keep going until you reach the steps leading up to Akal Takht Sahib, which will be clearly visible as you approach the center of the complex.
