Getting There

  • Taxi/Auto-rickshaw

    From central Port Blair, take a taxi or auto-rickshaw towards Corbyn's Cove Road. The Science Centre is located approximately 4 km from the city center, en route to Corbyn's Cove. A taxi will cost approximately ₹250-₹300 , while an auto-rickshaw may range from ₹100-₹150. Confirm the fare before starting your journey. There is ample parking space available at the Science Centre.

  • Walking

    If you are near Corbyn's Cove Beach, you can walk to the Science Centre. It's approximately a 1 km walk along Corbyn's Cove Road towards Science City. Follow the signs, and enjoy the scenic coastal views along the way. Note that the walk involves a slight uphill climb.

It offers a fun-filled learning environment with interactive exhibits and galleries showcasing various aspects of science and technology. Visitors can explore the physics, chemistry, biology, earth science, and information technology galleries. The center features hands-on displays demonstrating simple machines, electricity, magnetism, and the human body. The Science Centre also houses the remains of the first aircraft to enter the island, an amphibian surveillance plane that crashed shortly after its arrival. Engineering students reassembled the broken pieces, and they are now on display. The Science Centre is designed to be a place of enjoyment where knowledge meets creativity. It also features a planetarium, Taramandal, and conducts various science shows. The center is conveniently close to Corbyn's Cove beach, making it a worthwhile visit, especially for those traveling with school-going children.
