The Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum (VITM), established in 1962 in honor of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, stands as a beacon of science and technology in the heart of Bangalore. Inaugurated by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister, the museum has been inspiring curiosity and promoting scientific awareness for over six decades. The museum's building, located in Cubbon Park, spans 4,000 sq meters and houses a collection of industrial products, engines, and scientific models. The museum features seven permanent exhibition halls, including Engine Hall, Fun Science, Electrotechnic, Space Technology, Biotechnology, BEL Hall of Electronics, and Science for Children. These halls offer a glimpse into various fields of science and technology with interactive exhibits suitable for all ages. Visitors can explore the history of space exploration in the Space Technology gallery, witness a moving replica of a Spinosaurus in the Dinosaur Enclave, and enjoy shows at the 3D Visual Display Theatre and Taramandal planetarium. The museum also organizes science demonstration shows, lectures, and sky observation programs. VITM is open every day from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM, except on Ganesha Chathurthi and Deepavali.
