Lalbagh Botanical Garden: A Verdant Oasis in Bengaluru

Getting There

• Metro

  If you are near the MG Road area, head to the MG Road Metro Station. Take the Purple Line towards Baiyappanahalli. Get off at the Lalbagh Metro Station, which is about a 10-minute walk from Lalbagh Botanical Garden. After exiting the station, follow the signs to the garden, which will involve walking straight and taking a left at the first major intersection. Continue walking straight until you see the entrance to the garden.

• Bus

  You can catch a BMTC bus to Lalbagh. Look for buses that are heading towards Lalbagh, such as 27, 34, or 40. The bus stop nearest to the garden is the Lalbagh West Gate stop. Once you get off, simply walk towards the entrance of Lalbagh Botanical Garden, which is a short 5-minute walk away.

• Auto-Rickshaw

  For a more direct route, you can hire an auto-rickshaw from your current location. Just tell the driver 'Lalbagh Botanical Garden' or use the local term 'Lalbagh.' The drivers are generally familiar with the location. Make sure to confirm the fare before getting in, or ask them to use the meter. You will be dropped off at one of the entrances, and from there, you can enter the garden.

• Walking

  If you are staying nearby, you can walk to Lalbagh Botanical Garden. The main entrance is located on Siddapura Road, Mavalli. Just look for the large gates and the sign indicating the garden's name. If you are unsure of the directions, ask locals for guidance; they are usually very helpful.
