ISKCON Temple Bangalore: A Spiritual Oasis

ISKCON Bangalore, officially Sri Radha Krishna Temple, is a prominent landmark and one of the largest ISKCON temples globally. Located on Hare Krishna Hill in Rajajinagar, it's more than just a temple; it's a cultural complex dedicated to spreading Krishna consciousness.The temple's history began in 1978 when the society was registered, becoming operational in 1987. In 1988, land was allotted for the temple's construction, which commenced in 1990 and was completed in 1997. The temple was inaugurated by the then President of India, Shankar Dayal Sharma. The architecture blends neoclassical and Dravidian styles, featuring exquisite stone carvings, a gold-plated 17-meter flag post, and gilded Kalash Shikharas reaching 8.5 meters.Inside, deities of Sri Sri Radha Krishnachandra, Sri Sri Krishna Balarama, Sri Sri Nitai Gauranga, Sri Srinivasa Govinda and Sri Prahlada Narasimha are enshrined. The temple complex includes a museum, Vedic theater, exhibition halls, and gardens, offering a holistic cultural and spiritual experience. ISKCON Bangalore is known for its engagement activities, attracting devotees with daily kirtans and bhajan sessions. Visitors can partake in free, nutritious vegetarian lunches as part of the Nitya Annadana program.ISKCON Bangalore welcomes people from all backgrounds, promoting spiritual enrichment and cultural exchange. Visitors are advised to dress modestly, covering shoulders and knees. Photography is restricted inside the main temple hall. The temple provides facilities for the disabled and elderly, including elevators and wheelchairs.
