Sankey Tank, a man-made lake in the heart of Bengaluru's Malleshwaram area, offers a tranquil escape from the city's hustle. Built in 1882 by Col. Richard Hieram Sankey to address water supply needs, it has evolved into a popular recreational spot with lush gardens and boating activities.

Public Transport
From Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic), take a BMTC bus towards Malleshwaram. Several buses ply this route, and the fare ranges from ₹10 to ₹30. Alight at Sankey Tank Bus Stop, a short walk from the lake entrance. Alternatively, the nearest metro station is Mantri Square Sampige Road on the Green Line. From there, you can take a short auto-rickshaw ride to Sankey Tank, costing approximately ₹50-₹100.
Taxi/Ride-Share
From Bengaluru City Railway Station, hire a taxi or ride-share to Sankey Tank. The ride is approximately 6 km and typically costs between ₹190 and ₹240, depending on traffic. App-based services like Ola and Uber are readily available. Be aware that fares may increase during peak hours.
Walking
From Orion Mall, walk towards the ISKCON temple in Malleshwaram. Continue along the main road, and you'll find Sankey Tank on your left. The walk is approximately 1 km and should take about 15 minutes. This is a pleasant walk with several eateries along the way.
