Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car from Chopta to Panwali Kantha Bugyal, start by heading northeast on the Chopta road. After approximately 2 kilometers, you'll reach the village of Chandrashila. Continue driving until you see the sign for 'Panwali Kantha'. The road is well-marked and takes you through beautiful forested areas. Once you reach the base camp at Panwali Kantha, you may need to park your vehicle at a designated parking area. From there, it's a short trek (about 3 kilometers) to reach the Bugyal, which is a scenic meadow with stunning views.

• Public Transportation

  For those using public transportation, you can take a local bus or shared taxi from Chopta to the nearest village, Chandrashila. Buses depart regularly from the main bus stand in Chopta. The fare will be nominal, approximately INR 50-100, depending on the service. Once you reach Chandrashila, you will need to hire a local guide or porter to help with the trek to Panwali Kantha, as this part of the journey is not accessible by vehicle. The trek from Chandrashila to Panwali Kantha Bugyal is about 3 kilometers and should take around 1-2 hours, depending on your pace.

• Trekking

  If you're already at the base camp in Panwali Kantha, you can start your trek early in the morning to explore the Bugyal. The trek is moderately easy and well-trodden, making it suitable for most tourists. Ensure you wear proper trekking shoes and carry sufficient water and snacks. The best time to visit is from May to October when the flowers bloom and the weather is pleasant.
