    Discover more about Gulmarg Gondola

The Gulmarg Gondola is more than just a cable car; it's an iconic experience that elevates you to the heart of the Himalayas. As one of the world's highest operating cable cars, it offers unparalleled views of the snow-capped peaks and verdant valleys of Kashmir. The ride is divided into two main phases, each presenting a unique perspective of the landscape. Phase 1 carries you from Gulmarg to Kongdoori Station, ascending to 3,080 meters. Here, you can pause to soak in the scenery before continuing your journey. Phase 2 then whisks you to Apharwat Peak, reaching a staggering 4,200 meters. From this vantage point, the panoramic views are simply breathtaking, encompassing the Pir Panjal range and the majestic Nanga Parbat. The Gulmarg Gondola project was conceived in the late 1980s to boost tourism and provide access to the ski slopes. The first phase was completed in 1998, followed by the second phase in 2005. A third phase, adding chairlifts from Kongdoori to Mary's Shoulder, was completed in 2011. The Gulmarg Gondola is a joint venture between the government of Jammu and Kashmir and a French company. Whether you're an adventure seeker looking to hit the slopes or a nature lover wanting to witness the beauty of the Himalayas, the Gulmarg Gondola promises an unforgettable journey.
