Hussain Sagar Lake, built in 1563 by Hazrat Hussain Shah Wali, was constructed to meet the water needs of the growing city. The lake connects the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. In 2012, the United Nations World Tourism Organization declared Hussain Sagar Lake as the 'Heart of the World' due to its unique heart shape.
At the center of the lake stands a majestic 18-meter tall statue of Gautama Buddha, installed in 1992. The statue is made of white granite and accessible via boat rides.

Walking

From the Khairatabad Metro Station, exit towards the main road and look for local transportation options such as auto-rickshaws or cabs to reach Hussain Sagar View Point. Alternatively, take a bus that goes towards Khairatabad and get off at the nearest stop for Hussain Sagar. From there, you can walk or take an auto-rickshaw to the viewpoint. Bus lines that stop near Hussain Sagar Boating Point include 113EC, 113K, 113M/W, 1Z/229, and 5K.
