Gandipet Lake, officially named Osman Sagar, is an artificial lake built in 1920 by the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Osman Ali Khan. The lake was created to protect the city from flooding and to supply drinking water after the devastating Musi River floods of 1908. Spanning 46 square kilometers, it has become a favorite recreational spot for locals and tourists alike.

If you are driving from Hyderabad, Gandipet Lake is located approximately 20 km from the city center. The drive takes about 30 minutes. Parking is available near the lake, but it can get crowded on weekends and holidays. The drive from Hyderabad to Gandipet will cost approximately ₹160 - ₹240.
