Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main entrance of Golconda Fort, head towards the exit gate. Once you exit the fort, turn left onto the main road. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction. At this junction, you will see the Naya Qila (New Fort) on your left. Keep walking straight, and you will eventually reach the main road leading to Darulshifa. Salar Jung Museum is located on this road. After walking approximately 2 kilometers, you will see the museum on your right. The entrance is clearly marked, and you will need to pay an entry fee of around INR 20 per person for Indian citizens and INR 200 for foreign tourists.

  • Auto Rickshaw

    From Golconda Fort, you can take an auto-rickshaw to Salar Jung Museum. To find an auto-rickshaw, exit the fort and head towards the main road. Auto-rickshaws are usually available near the fort entrance. Negotiate the fare before starting your ride; it should cost you approximately INR 100-150 for the journey, which is about 20 minutes depending on traffic. The auto-rickshaw driver will drop you off directly at the museum entrance.

    To take a public bus from Golconda Fort to Salar Jung Museum, exit the fort and walk towards the nearest bus stop on the main road. You can take Bus No. 7 or 8 which goes towards Darulshifa. The bus fare is around INR 10. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the Darulshifa bus stop, and from there, it is a short 5-minute walk to the museum entrance.
