Travel Guide to Donyi polo water fall

Getting There

• Walking

  Start from Itanagar's main market area (also known as the Naharlagun Market). Head south on the main road towards the Donyi Polo area. Follow the road signs to Donyi Polo, which will lead you through a series of local shops and small eateries. Continue walking straight for about 2.5 kilometers until you reach the junction where you can see a signboard for Donyi Polo Waterfall. From this junction, take the left road, which will lead you to the waterfall area. Keep walking for another 1 kilometer, and you will start hearing the sound of water. The waterfall is located a short distance off the path, so keep an eye out for the trail leading to it.

• Cycle

  If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Itanagar. Begin your journey from the main market and head south towards Donyi Polo. Follow the same route as mentioned for walking; it is about 3.5 kilometers from the market to the waterfall. Cycling will allow you to cover the distance faster, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way. Once you reach the junction with the Donyi Polo sign, take the left road and cycle for about 1 kilometer until you hear the waterfall. Park your bicycle safely and follow the small trail to reach the waterfall.

• Public Transport (Auto-rickshaw)

  From any location in Itanagar, head to the nearest auto-rickshaw stand. Request the driver to take you to Donyi Polo, specifying the Donyi Polo Waterfall as your destination. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will drop you off at the junction where the sign for Donyi Polo Waterfall is located. From there, you will need to walk about 1 kilometer down the path that leads to the waterfall. Be sure to confirm with the driver that you are being dropped at the right location.
