• Car

  If you are driving from Ranchi, take NH43 towards Gumla. Continue on NH43 for approximately 80 km until you reach the town of Gumla. From Gumla, follow the signs to Rani Mukherjee Nagar Road (also known as Gumla-Dumri Road). Drive for about 30 km until you reach the village of Mamla. Hirni Water Falls is located a short distance from Mamla. Look for local signage that will guide you to the falls. Parking is available near the falls, but be prepared for a short walk to access the viewing areas.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Hirni Water Falls via public transport, start your journey from Ranchi by taking a bus to Gumla. Buses frequently depart from the Ranchi bus stand and the journey takes approximately 2-3 hours. Once you arrive in Gumla, you can catch a local shared jeep or auto-rickshaw towards Mamla, which will cost around ₹50-₹100. The journey from Gumla to Mamla takes about 30-40 minutes. Upon reaching Mamla, ask locals for directions to Hirni Water Falls, which is a short walk away. Ensure to verify the timing of your return transport to avoid being stranded.

  If you prefer a more comfortable option, you can hire a taxi from Ranchi directly to Hirni Water Falls. Taxis can be booked via local services or ride-hailing apps. The distance is approximately 110 km, and the journey will take about 3-4 hours, depending on traffic. The fare will generally range from ₹2500 to ₹3500, depending on the type of vehicle and rental service. Ensure to negotiate the return fare with the driver beforehand to make your trip hassle-free.
