Food and Drink Activities in Jodhpur

Jodhpur by Night : Street Food And Temple Walking Tour

Jodhpur street food tour

In Jodhpur I had a street food tour to learn about Rajasthani Delights. I think it was the best street food I have ever eaten so far!! Jodhpur famous food is about history, creativity, and surviving in a difficult desert climate; it’s not only about the flavour. The cuisine is distinct due to the dry climate, lack of fresh vegetables, and dependence on durable ingredients. Characteristics of Jodhpur Food * Spices: Strong spices such as red chilli, turmeric, cumin, and coriander are usednoften in Jodhpur food. * Ghee (Clarified Butter): The ghee is utilized generously while preparing nearly every dish and has made the cuisines richly aromatic. * Dry Vegetables: Dry ker (a desert berry) and sangri (a bean) are among the major ingredients of Rajasthani recipes. * Sweet and Salty Equilibrium: The flavors of Jodhpur famous food are sweetly balanced with spices, sweet and salt. Thank you so much Ram of @jodhpurstreetfoodtour, you are an excellent guide and an absolute foodie! It was great fun too crossing the busy streets on the back of your motorbike.

Traditional Food of Rajasthan Cooking Class Experience

Excellent cooking class - authentic and delicious!

Even though we mainly observed, the friendly Instructor made sure we understood each step of the cooking process. We learned about traditional recipes including chai masala, butter paneer and dahl, and lots of insights about Indian cooking techniques and ingredients were shared. The class was well-organized and informative, the Family very welcoming; perfect for anyone wanting to learn about authentiv Indian cuisine.

chai and pakora cooking class

Amazing experience

We had the most incredible time at this cooking class. It was a proper home visit and a great experience to be in a family kitchen cooking properly. We had more pakora and chai than we could possibly finish and I’ve loved cooking some pakora back in the UK since! My wife and sister in law got some henna afterwards which was amazing. Overall, fantastic value for money and a great way to have a lovely evening with locals of this beautiful city .
