Auto-Rickshaw
If you are in Kanyakumari town, you can hire an auto-rickshaw to Vattakottai Fort. Simply tell the driver 'Vattakottai Fort' or show them the location on your phone. The ride will take about 20-30 minutes. The driver will take you along the main road (Kanyakumari-Vattakottai Road) towards Vattakottai. Look for the fort's entrance on your left as you approach the area.
Walking
If you are staying near Kanyakumari beach and want to walk to Vattakottai Fort, head west along the beach road. Continue straight for approximately 2 kilometers until you reach the Kanyakumari-Vattakottai Road. Turn left onto this road and walk for another 1.5 kilometers. You will see the entrance to Vattakottai Fort on your right. The total walking distance is about 3.5 kilometers and will take roughly 45 minutes.
Local Bus
You can catch a local bus heading towards Vattakottai from the Kanyakumari bus stand. Buses frequently run on this route. Ask for a bus that goes to 'Vattakottai' or look for signs on the bus indicating the destination. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Vattakottai stop, the fort is just a short walk (about 500 meters) from the bus stop.
