Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Anantnag from Srinagar on NH 44. After reaching Anantnag, take the NH 1B towards Daksum. Continue on this road for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach Daksum. From Daksum, Sinthan Top is about 12 kilometers away. The road to Sinthan Top is steep and winding, so drive cautiously. Parking is available near the top, but ensure your vehicle is parked safely as the area can get busy with tourists.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, take a bus from Srinagar to Anantnag. Buses leave regularly from the main bus station. Upon arrival in Anantnag, look for shared taxis or local buses that go to Daksum. The fare to Daksum is around INR 100-150. Once you reach Daksum, you can either hire a local taxi to take you to Sinthan Top for approximately INR 800-1000 or you can opt for a trek if you are feeling adventurous, which takes about 2-3 hours. Make sure to confirm the return timings of public transport, as services may be limited in the evening.
Trekking from Daksum
If you choose to trek from Daksum to Sinthan Top, start from the main village area of Daksum. The trek is approximately 12 kilometers and is moderately challenging, taking about 3-4 hours depending on your pace. Follow the trail that starts near the Daksum tourist hut, which is well-marked. Ensure you carry sufficient water, snacks, and wear good trekking shoes. This trek offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, making it a rewarding experience.
